A lovely little house in Spain sent to me by Eldest Child as he hiked the Camino. I fell in love in an instant and want to move here!

We are circling around to Medieval History again for our next school year. I always do a little happy dance when I change out the Ancient History novels for the Medieval books on the book shelf. I love Ancient History as well, but if there were a time machine within my reach......it would be programmed to go to St. Benedict's Monasteries at Subiaco and Monte Cassino.

Experiencing sheer madness at the fabric store. How DOES one choose anything? I wanted it all. Is this a common experience for others? But at last these were chosen to make EASY patterns without zippers. Putting in zippers might end up being my tragic flaw! Photos of the finished dresses coming soon.

Eldest Child and Faithful Friend Pete make it to the end of the Camino de Santiago. Bravo! 500 miles. Now they are on to Rome to celebrate a wonderful end to their spiritual journey.
We enjoyed the Cathedral book, I picked it up at a thrift store last year. Would like to get the Illuminated Alphabet book, even just for myself ;-) I totally empathize with you on the fabric--yes, I experience 'wanting all of it" when I'm there! My husband doesn't understand but he supports me, as long as I stick to the budget--which is a great test in temperance! The little dress is adorable, the pom-pom fringe--love, love!! Rome sounds like a great way to celebrate such a wonderful journey, God bless them!

ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing that your son made a pilgrimage on the Camino de Santiago! Ten years ago my husband and I met some pilgrims that had just finished the trek, they told us how they had walked all those miles! We had never heard of this before then...so inspiring!!! God bless them all!

ReplyDeleteAs far as your fabric question, all I can say is YES! So many gorgeous patterns to choose from. And it's so difficult for me to get to the store now with my 3 littles that lately I've been trying to shop online which is even harder!

ReplyDeleteThe only time I have the 'I want it all' problem is when I can get over to Elmira and hit the little Mennonite fabric/general store in Floridale. Otherwise in Fabricland it's more 'ugh, this same stuff still' :)
I am with you on Medieval History year! That has to be my favorite and you have some of my very favorite books and resources. Maybe we could go in on that lovely house in Spain? It is dreamy!
