PHFR: The Distinctive feel of a Missouri Summer

HAPPY
Happy that we are blessed with a smart, patient, funny, eccentric (in the best sense), faithful, responsible Dad.  He had a wonderful Father's Day out in nature with his walking stick and his kids around him and calling him on the phone.

FUN AND REAL-LY AMAZING
Dancing Child wowing the crowd with his solo at his last recital.  It brought tears to my eyes.  This child deals with many challenges: both emotional and learning.  But when he dances, we see the life just blast out of him like "shining from shook foil".  He bounds and leaps and expresses all he feels to the audience.  God's gifts are many and varied.  He has blessed this child with the ability to "dance for joy before the ark" as David did.

PRETTY
Some lovely moments on a hike through the hills of Missouri.  If you are a native to the place, you know how that sun and humidity smell and feel in the woods and trees.  The heavy sweetness of a late afternoon when you can hear the wind blowing high up above through the pines.  The tree frogs start singing early and everything is a fabulous green.  Life abounding everywhere with vines, flowers, leaves, tadpoles in water, butterflies and the sound of birds.  Even with all this life around us, the air is so blessedly silent.  No noise of anything man made.  Bliss!

  1. Let's hear it for dads with walking sticks. I took my mother into nature for father's day, but she was reluctant to get out of the car, lol. Pretty flowers and trees. There's one that looks like the Loch Ness Monster coming out of the water. I also thought the angle on the open door made for a beautiful shot.
