Distant travelers come home to Hobbiton

I love the Christmas season for so many reasons, but the main reason in these last years is that my kids come home from college.

The house is filled with talk of all their exploits and gradually over the vacation the creative flow starts a flowin'.  Lovely daughter gets out the old French book

and some Harney and Sons Hot Cinnamon Spice tea.

She will be taking more french second semester and has wonderful hopes of studying in France in the future.

Meanwhile, she has declared her major...................

 Theater!
Hurrah!!!

I have also been allowed into the recording studio of Oldest Child as he teams up with techno savvy Creative Child and records his new music.

It is very fun to watch them work together, to hold mics, and to just be happily adrift in their creativity........

Thoughtful Child reads many books and talks intelligently about politics, his Faith, and sundry other things with his Dad and me.  He has a current heart for Africa, China, and South America.

He also has time for GAMES...he plays all the new Christmas games and his old stand by from his younger days........Civilization.....to the delight of youngest Child who is still very much into games.

So, life is good this week....I feel like we are in some far away place away from the regular routine of life....life will return next week and the adventurers will soon leave Hobbiton for new adventures.  But we'll be here....and we will leave the door ajar for future visits!
