For Today: fall things

Outside my window.........the trees on our street are on fire with color.  And the air is warm and balmy.

I am thinking........how I would like to live in a little house in the woods with a stone fireplace and all my
books....but then again, I would miss the city and its "hurly burly ways".

I am thankful that I was able to spend time with my older kids this last week on their fall break.  We had a lot of fun.

In the kitchen chicken is getting ready to go on the grill.....we had a great breakfast casserole this morning...and I think I shall have a glass of wine.....as we put soup together for tomorrow..bean with ham.

I am wearing a black and blue plaid big shirt and long black pants.

I am praying that I can love other people as Christ loves them.

I have gone..........on a hike today.  It was good to feel the sun and to know that my sore legs got a work out.

I am reading...........hmm..........nothing but school books right now.  But if those count:  we just finished The Golden Goblet and are beginning God King.  Oh, and some poetry about fall.

I am hoping my life will get simpler and that all my decisions will be made putting God first.

I am hearing my son drinking his lemonade.

Around the house...........everyone is napping, reading, or writing......and building the fire for the chicken to be grilled.

A favorite quote for today:     GOD DWELLS AMONG THE POTS AND PANS.  St. Teresa of Avila

One of my favorite things........the smell of crunchy leaves.

A few plans for the rest of the week......teaching drama, doing laundry, basketball practice, co op, drums, getting coffee, decorating for Halloween!

A peek into my day.................

Monday is laundry day at our house

  1. I like your description of a little house in the woods with a stone fireplace and your books all around. Sounds like a place I could really enjoy.

  2. Mmm ham and bean soup sounds delish! Especially since we’ve moved on to cooler damp temps this week in Minnesota. Have a lovely week and enjoy your beautiful trees, the leaves are already off all of ours.
