As I get older, I am so attracted to people who are comfortable being silent. I sometimes wonder if George Washington Carver was such a person. I think he might have been. As we meandered through the botanical gardens today and read these quotes by him I really wished I knew him. Sometimes there is just too much talk and not enough listening, not enough observing. I am weary sometimes of talk. I have a hankering to be with peaceful people who do not need to talk in order to be with you. Peaceful people are sometimes hard to find, but it is from quiet, pondering, observant people that quotes like these come from.
