{Pretty, Happy, Funny, Real}: Mish Mash

{Pretty}
A beautiful "just because" rose brought to me by Creative Child when he visited us today.  He's a keeper!

{Happy}

Eldest Child gave me a lot of furniture after moving out of his rental house to go on his two month tour of "The Way" in the mountains and valleys of Spain.  I inherited some great things that I had just the week before thought would be fun to have.  I love the coffee table and the corner cabinet.  More room to display some things I love.  Like the Chinatown candles and a wonderful drawing that a young girl drew of the Blessed Mother.  The schoolroom "parlor" is suddenly taking shape and getting more homey.  Thanks Eldest Child!!

{Funny}
So, while I was in the basement changing the laundry from the washer to the dryer I yelled up the stairs, "Hey, be ready for our Ancient history review when I come up there in a minute!"  And...this is what I found when I turned the corner and entered the room.  In all seriousness....I guess they were "ready".

Cyrus and Nebuchadnezzar......of Course!
Moses

{Real}

Oh, the amazing things you can buy at the dollar store!!!  It's just not a visit to the toy aisle to kill-time-on-those-long-summer-days-with-little-guys, anymore.  Although those days WERE very fun.  I could give them each $3.00 and watch them go crazy happy trying to choose three things.  It was the closest thing I ever came to feeling like Santa Claus!  But here are some new finds!  Fans, great flashcard containers, assorted pen pails, and Tropical Trivia Night Extravaganza "stuff"!    We are even talking flamingos!!

And here is where is gets really REAL.  I found some coffee cups in these incredible colors!  For ONE DOLLAR!  I added them to my summer collection of other coffee cups.  Um, yes, I might have one two many coffee cups......there is no excuse.........perhaps I should start a "Coffee Cup Collector's Anonymous"!

  1. I love the candles...so pretty! And the drawing of the Blessed Mother.
    I also have too many coffee cups. I said I was getting rid of some, and I cleaned them out...but I liked them too much to throw them away. Now, instead of sitting in the cabinet with other coffee cups, they are holding pencils in various places in the house. Homeschoolers need a lot of pencils, so I think it's justifiable, don't you? :-)
