A Pascal Moon

We found ourselves walking quietly up the sidewalk to the Church to join our voices to the Easter Vigil Mass.  Everything about the Vigil is beauty: the thick exotic scent of incense and heat of new fire on the ring of faces around it,  and the purity of the newly blessed water splashing  joy on our faces from the hyssop branch,  and the sacred glory of the words, the hymns, the wonder of this holy night.  And  there suddenly we see a Pascal Moon rising above the towers of the Church to crown this night with glory.  ALLELUIA it seems to say, and AMEN say we.
