Easter Season Takes

These are the forty days of sheer happiness for the apostles and the friends of Jesus.  They eat together, he goes fishing with them, cooks fish over a fire, talks about the Kingdom which they understand a little better now, visits Martha and Mary perhaps and Lazarus listens more eagerly to His teaching on the rising from the dead, and maybe the man born blind has met him again.  Maybe the rich young man has come to his senses and has left all to find Jesus.  Maybe Joseph of Arimethea and Nicodemus have openly sought Him out now and sit boldly at his table to listen.
This is the forty days of absolute, giddy joy for them. Waking up every morning and finding that He is still there!
I love this time in the Church's calendar!  So much Divine mixed with the simple pleasures of being human.  And Our Lady sitting quietly among them all, taking it all in with a peaceful smile and drinking in the sight of her Son glorified.
