The Desk

When Leila asked us to show our desk areas, I started to laugh a bit.  My husband and I each have a desk. I could show mine, but my husband's is far more interesting.  He has allowed me to give a tour and unabashedly defends himself that it is all a "fine balance".    The proverbial words, "there is method to his madness" certainly apply here.  If I had to work in this space I would succumb to insanity in a very short time.  But here my husband thrives among his stuff!!  I test him every once in awhile.  I move something.  Nine times out of ten,  he knows it has been moved.  If he even sees me with a broom or a trash can within 20 feet of this area he asks with great agitation, "where are you going with that?"  I am resigned to leave it be.....a "man's castle" and all.  Besides, there is a quite convenient door that keeps him feeling cozy inside and "out of sight out of mind" on my side of the door.  It works!  One could probably come up with a saying:

 "To every Man, his desk!"

The filing system.  He has never lost one bill!

The planner!  Believe it or not, he is a great list keeper and has taught me to be one as well.  He loves post its!

You can tell a lot about someone by looking at his desk.

This bookcase to the side of the desk serves as a kind of toolbox on the go - all his favorites at his fingertips!

His prayer books all together on the top shelf!

I love this room.  I come here sometimes and stand in the middle of the floor and am very glad I am married to this man.  He is alive and vibrant and thinking all the time.  It's a comfortable and familiar place....and as luck would have it,

IT DOES HAVE THAT DOOR
